Hey welcome back! Hope the holidays treated you well.
Sad that you have to come back to this messy limbo known as purgatory or umm just over .500 hell |

Not only did the Flames take Kidd ahead of Brodeur, I believe they actually traded picks with NJ so they could do it. |

(0.571) save percentage fail!!! even Cory SARICH scored! rough one for the devs. it was nice to see iggy stand up and state (by fighting) that even though the game is 4-0 in the first, he's not taking crap. The guy is first class. congrats on his success. |

Welcome back. Hope your absence wasnt anything serious. A lot more to life than hockey. We will have lots to talk about in coming days. Some big games against the california boys coming up that will determine february discussions/directions. |

What will happen at the deadline?? Another season of not making the playoffs has to mean time to move in a different direction? aka - blow it up? |

I still don't think it has to be completely blown up. Iggy as he ages can play more then the goal scorers roll, and as mentioned he brings more to the franchise then whats on the ice. He can do what yzerman did.
That said, I think he deserves a cup, so up to him.
Watching the games, I still wish Jbo will be the cog they trade to get something. And at trade deadline Kipper (although love to keep him, but he has value), bourque, jokinen and sarich...and possibly tanguay are pieces that teams will be wanting for the playoffs.
Sure we keep saying trade iggy for parise or semin. But why? so we get another shooter on a team of shooters and diggers. Still doesn't give us the centre we need. And we are now lacking the leader/personality of the franchise.
A blowup sends us further back then edmonton went.
whats wrong with a roy or raymond for a bourque or jokinen. One gets us a centre playmaker, the other some more speed. And use kipper for some good draft picks.

In Calgary this week for business and was lucky enough to be invited to the game. I have always loved Iggy and it was a pleasure seeing him being honoured! |

I don't know if I would be trading Jokinen now. You could argue he has been our most consistent player. |

Welcome back Vetts...
The only way I see Iginla being moved is if two things happen:
1) He demands it
2) He demands it and goes to a GENUINE contender at the deadline (aka the Ray Borque trade).
Regardless he returns and retires a FLame... |

I forgot about that, Glencross is a cold-blooded assassin.
I think you guys let him go to make the big push for Vanek Heatley Hossa.

Agreed. Blow-ups are great in theory, but they rarely work out as planned. |

It was a California trip last season that basically ended our run, if you remember. If they can get on a roll, perhaps the Flames still have a shot... |
